Well, Made it through another one. Spring is officially here. Although it wasn’t really that tough of a winter. Good news is we had plenty of snow up high and pretty good rain down low. This has helped the rivers as far as the current flow levels. Flows are about 350 up at Darby on the Bitteroot right now which is about twice the normal level. There have already been some great days to be had out there. Skwalas have already been coming off on the warmer cloudy days. This has had the fish looking up. Some decent BWO fishing has been had alongside when it’s not too windy.
As a result of the warmer weather the Blackfoot and the Clark Fork haven’t been a bad option. Possibly due to the warmer than usual weather this year. These river’s are usually somewhat dormant in February , so a nice change.
Temps look good through this week, and with the time change coming soon, prime time fishing is around the next bend. Get out with your Chubby and drop a worm. The tug’s the drug!!
