The last couple of days has brought on a pretty big weather change. From the 80’s to the 50’s. This has knocked the bugs back. Still some out, just a switch from heavy Salmonflies and Yellow sallies in spots to Mayflies. Mahogany’s were the name of the game yesterday. But it was somewhat brief mixed in with some pretty solid wind.
Water levels are still good, but dropping. On certain rivers you can still avoid channels you rather not take. And on other stretches your forced to take that sleepy diversion.
Next week looks like another warm up. So the solid hatch of the big bugs should return. Don’t put that box away yet. Dropper fishing seems to bounce back and forth between the rubber leg one day, the next a size 12 mayfly nymph.
Keep em wet
